The holidays are our favorite time of year at Gabbi’s. It’s a time to spend with friends, family, and enjoy with traditions and all things festive! In Mexico, the Posada begins today through Christmas Eve. It is an important part of traditional Mexican Christmas celebrations. The word posada means “inn” or “shelter” in Spanish, and this tradition re-enacts Mary and Joseph’s search for a place to stay in Bethlehem. Posadas are held in Mexico on each of the nine nights leading up to Christmas, celebrated with friends, family, and food.
We are celebrating this season with some of our favorites, from savory, hearty soups to the traditional rompope and other sweet treats. Enjoy and Buen Provecho!
From Ed and I, and everyone at Gabbi’s Mexican Kitchen, we wish you a very Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas! ~Gabbi
